Climate Adaptation Summit 2020

Action | Acceleration | Adaptation
What new steps do we need to take? Which existing agreements must be changed? And how can we speed up processes?

Our climate is changing. Our world is getting hotter. Our weather is becoming more volatile. Through intelligent intervention, however, we can adapt and bolster our resilience to these new climate extremes. Delivering this demands global cooperation and partnership. To drive the urgent action required, the Global Commission on Adaptation has launched its “Year of Action”, a series of initiatives intended to see the delivery of practical measures to #AdaptOurWorld to the looming threat of climate change.

Supported by the Dutch Government, the “Year of Action” offers a platform for change culminating with the global Climate Adaptation Summit on 22 October 2020. The summit coincides with a Climate Adaptation Week held in cooperation with local partners from 19 to 23 October 2020. The week will see key events held in Groningen and Rotterdam as well as numerous local, regional, national and international side events to advance the climate adaptation agenda.
