FOCUS-Africa project Stakeholder Workshop

Registration is open for the first FOCUS-Africa External Stakeholder Workshop, an online event, on the 9th December 2020 from 09:00 – 12:30 CET/10:00 – 13:30 SAST.

Each of the six Stakeholder Workshops will be ‘hosted’ in one of the eight case studies home countries, during the four-year project. They are organised to support the project in showcasing and sharing its results, and importantly to seek input and possible collaborations from stakeholders.

The first workshop focuses on South Africa, with presentations from a selection of stakeholders interested in climate services for the country and provides an opportunity:

  • to assess the user’s perspective of climate related risks;
  • to map the existing climate risk mitigation and adaptation measures and responses;
  • to raise an awareness of climate services tools and knowledge; and
  • to identify lessons learned from 2020 and COVID-19.

Microsoft Teams will be used to deliver the Workshop and the connection details will be shared following registration on the confirmation page.

We have identified eight case studies in the energy, food security, water and infrastructure sectors of the SADC region – to provide a range of examples where climate service delivery can be successfully implemented.
